Baby Phoebe’s Slideshow

March 30, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Isn’t she beautiful? Phoebe was born on Monday March 20 at StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna. She was a good sport for her newborn portrait session on Thursday March 24 with her parents Chris & Aundrea, and her big brother Max.

As promised, I created a slideshow for Phoebe’s session. Click Here to view, and give it a couple minutes to load on a slower connection.

Amy & Michael’s Engagement Session

March 29, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Meet Amy & Michael, who came to Smyrna on Sunday from Mississippi for their Engagement Session.

Amy & I have known each other for about 9 months, through a long-distance e-mail relationship. I have been giving her advice on developing her own photography hobby into a business. Though this was our first time to meet in person, I feel like I know Amy so well already, and I really had fun during our session. Michael was cool too.

I am sad that I am not able to shoot their wedding because I was already booked, but I can’t wait to see the photos!

Dress Rehearsal

March 24, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Actually, I guess a wedding doesn’t technically have a dress rehearsal…
Anyway, Brad and I spent the evening at FBC Smyrna for Jennifer & David’s Wedding Rehearsal and I am super excited. I have been looking forward to this weekend, as it is my first wedding of the 2006 season. I picked up a few new lenses today, so I took them over and tried them out during the rehearsal. I have to say, I think they did fine! First image is in the worship center, where the ceremony will take place. Second image is during dinner, when the Best Man gave us a little insight into David & Jennifer’s “prayer time.” Too funny.

Jared & Katie are ENGAGED!!!

March 20, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Congratulations to Jared & Katie, who celebrated the first day of Spring by getting engaged!

Early in their relationship I felt that they had a special bond, and even stepped out to say that I thought they would get married. Jared said tonight that I was the first person to “call it” that they would end up togther…even before they admitted it to each other.

You would have to search far and wide to find two people as special as Jared & Katie. They are both so committed to their relationship with the Lord, and they both seek to honor Him with their lives. Jared’s proposal demonstrated his deep love for Katie as he prayed over her, and then illustrated his desire to serve her during their marriage by washing her feet. Then came the ring, and the rest is history!

Randy & Ashley in Memphis

March 19, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

It was a chilly day in Memphis but that didn’t stop Randy & Ashley from joining me at the Memphis Botanic Gardens for their Engagement Session today.

Our session today is the first time that I have met these two in person. I had a great time hanging out and I am looking forward to their wedding in June.

A fun fact about the couple: Randy proposed to Ashley in front of their entire church on a Sunday morning. I think that is pretty guts-y.

Click here for a slideshow from our session.

Jeremy & Nickie in Bolivar

March 18, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Today was a beautiful day here in Bolivar, TN where I had the joy of meeting Nickie & Jeremy for the first time for their engagement session. Nickie and I have talked back and forth over email in working out the details of her wedding photography package and she decided to go ahead and book it based on viewing my website and our emails. I appreciate her so much for taking that leap of faith!

This adorable couple has been together for nine years. They were so comfortable together - I suspect the years of history in their relationship must have something to do with that. We had gorgeous weather for our session, which took place around the square in “downtown” Bolivar. Full coverage of their session will be available soon by clicking here.

"Good Times" by Chic

Do you know what song was number 1 on the charts on the day you were born? I did not until my friend Christy sent me this link. As referenced in the title, my song was “Good Times” by Chic.

Here’s the words to the chorus:

Good times | These are the good times | Leave your cares behind | These are the good times | Good times | These are the good times | Our new state of mind | These are the good times

Fun in the Sun

March 16, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

It’s starting to look like Spring here in Middle Tennessee. That means getting back out for fun photo sessions under the sun. On Wednesday, I tagged along as Jeremy, Amanda & Baby Will went over to play in the daffodils at the Sam Davis Home in Smyrna. We took some great shots of Will in the flowers, but this picture is one of my favorites. The joy on Amanda & Jeremy’s faces as they have fun with their son is priceless. You can almost hear them giggling as Will looks back down at them and smiles.

Trash the Dress…Any Takers?

March 15, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

I think it would be SO much fun to shoot a session like this, and I think your images would set a new trend and EVERYONE would want to trash their dress.

Read the article so you don’t think I am crazy.

And to clarify, I am not talking about ruining the dress permanently, but more like getting the bottom of it dirty or getting the dress wet and then taking it to the cleaners immediately. Think rolling around in the surf/sand on the beach, or on a on a hillside somewhere, in a creek, swimming pool, etc. The possibilities are endless. How fun would it be to end your wedding night with a big cannonball into a pool while you’re fully dressed? It’s not for everyone, but I know there’s someone out there.

And trashing the dress does not have to be done on your wedding night. We can wait until you’re home from your honeymoon and do it then. No extra charge for the session!
