Happy Birthday Sophie

We stopped by the Smyrna Library Park this afternoon for Sophie’s 1st Birthday Party. She looked lovely in a little dress that her Aunt Amy made for her, and we all enjoyed the beautiful and yummy cake that Joy created. It was windy and cool, but that didn’t stop the party and we all had a great time. Happy Birthday Sophie!
Proud Daughter

I am a proud daughter tonight! My mom, Karen, ran the Country Music 1/2 Marathon this morning in downtown Nashville. It was an awesome feeling to see her come across the finish line.

Maddie inspired me…

I had fun with Maddie today during our session at the Sam Davis Home in Smyrna. We walked around to several different areas and she was very good to be still and smile and do everything like I asked. But, Leah was sharing that Maddie is always very full of energy, and it got me thinking that the “stand still and smile” pictures were not totally capturing who she is…
So Maddie inspired me to encourage her to cut loose and run and twirl and laugh. I LOVE this shot. Over all of the sweet posed pictures we took today, this one is my favorite. You could put any caption on it - like “Joy” or “Freedom” or “Fun,” but I thought “Maddie” was the perfect title for this image.

What a great day we had on Friday with Will & his family, witnessing his adoption and also at his fun party!
Congratulations Karrick & Deborah!

I just finished shooting a beautiful wedding just outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Karrick & Deborah were united in marriage this afternoon. This is a shot we got when we went with the entire wedding party out to a park between the ceremony and reception. We traveled in style in a stretch Hummer and had a blast dancing at the reception.
It took a major effort to make it here on time. When we got home from Will’s Adoption Party (photos to come from that event also), we got a call that my flight for this morning was cancelled and that I had been rescheduled for a flight that would arrive in Detroit way after the time I was supposed to start this wedding. So I stayed up really late to cancel that flight and scramble to find one on a different airline to get me here on time. Fortunately, Delta got me here by 11:30 AM. I am pre-selected for extra screenings at the airport because my tickets were booked at the last minute, so it was a joy to have all of my equipment unpacked and repacked in front of everyone at the airport. I will probably do it again tomorrow on my way home.
Flying out of Detroit at 8:00 AM, and plan to be back for church during second hour if I can keep my eyes open. I just don’t want to miss Pat’s next Da Vinci Code sermon. To learn more about that series, visit FBC Smyrna.
Taz is growing up

On Tuesday afternoon, Taz and his Mom & Dad and I went for a walk at the Rock Springs Neighborhood Park in Smyrna. He is a handsome little guy, and he and his Daddy were a perfect match in navy polo shirts and khaki shorts. I can’t believe that he is 3 months old already.
Congratulations Will Norris!

Congratulations to Will, who officially became a Norris today at his adoption finalization in Murfreesboro. He slept through most of the technical chatter in court, and through the photos, but woke up a new man.

Congratulations!

This first photo is my brother Kyle (24) and my sister Reagan (10) and me at my grandparents’ house this afternoon. We hung out over there after lunch, hiding and hunting Easter eggs for a couple hours. I lost every time…but days like these are what memories are made of, and I loved every minute of it.
The second photo is of me and Brad, cuddling in the porch swing. That’s Brad making his serious face, because he was thrilled to be in another picture. And me, being my normal self.
He is risen indeed

“Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to see the tomb. Suddenly there was a great earthquake because an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled away the stone and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was a white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.
Then the angel of the Lord spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. ” I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.”
