I think it is so nice when a client takes time to send me a nice note. This one perked me up yesterday, and it’s from a groom-to-be, which is highly unusual!

“Alison,
Hey I just wanted to say hey and let you know that we love the pics that you have on your blog page and have given out your website address to everyone we know. We had an awesome time and you officially kicked off the whole process for us and it seems more real now than ever that we are going to have this great day. I just wanted to thank you so much for all of your hard work and we can’t wait to see all of the other pics. Have a great day!

Talk to you later,
Chris

P.S….My family in Huntsville were all blown away by your website and I have suggested to all of them that they use you!!!”

I had a great time with Chris & Jonie, and I am so excited to share all of their images with them soon. For now, since they were sooooo nice, I will add this new image to the blog, of a little dancing in the park.

Here’s Jason & Shai’s puppy Ella, right after her first swimming lesson this weekend at the pond by the Bolivar Country Club. She did pretty well. I love this shot!

Congratulations Scott & Janna!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for Scott & Janna’s wedding at Carahills, just outside of Memphis. Thank you for letting me share your special day with you!

This was a special wedding for me because I got to work with my brother-in-law, Jason, who was the videographer for the day. I can’t wait to see the finished product because he is very talented and I know he’ll do a great job. If you’re looking for a videographer, contact Jason through his company’s website at Good.Fight.Media. The website is not fully constructed yet but you’ll enjoy reading their blogs and can reach them if you desire.

Lucius & Alison

On Saturday morning I went over to the beautiful home of the Drumwright Family, for an engagement session with Lucius & Alison. I photographed Alison’s brother Evan’s wedding this past October and I am just thrilled to be working with this family again. I enjoyed chatting after our session in the back yard overlooking the pond. Alison & Lucius live in Arkansas but will be coming back to the Memphis area for their wedding in September.

Look at this precious boy! This is Deacon, son of Aaron & Jamie and brother to Cayden. He is an adorable sweet boy and a blessing to his family. I enjoyed taking your picture today, man.

I love this family shot, where Mom & Dad are kissing and the boys are watching. We went out to Cannonsburgh in Murfreesboro for this session and it was an awesome day to be outside.

Ryan & Lindsey

Wow. Ryan & Lindsey and I met just after sunrise at Centennial Park in downtown Nashville this morning for their engagement session.

It was a little early and took us all a while to get warmed up, but when I saw this shot I knew we had hit the jackpot. Ryan & Lindsey will be married in July.

Dace & Aimee

It was a cool and rainy day here in Middle Tennessee, but that didn’t stop Dace & Aimee and me from starting our day at 6:30 with their engagement portrait session. We met out in historic Leiper’s Fork, where their reception will be held, and had fun wandering around and taking pictures.

What I love about these two is that they are really comfortable with the photojournalistic approach to their wedding photography. This means, they are not looking for me to show up on their wedding day and tell them to “look here & smile” all day long. Other than maybe 30 minutes of posed group photos for family history’s sake, they are just going to live and enjoy their wedding day and I am going to capture it as it happens and tell their story. I would encourage you to consider this approach to not just wedding photography, but family and children’s photography as well. Instead of trying to make your child smile at the camera for an hour, why not hire me to attend their normal activities with you and capture them being themselves? Or have me join you at your home for a few hours and follow your family around? I promise you, the result will be memories that were presented as art, instead of getting your picture made. Try it!

Baby Gray

I ventured out to Woodbury today to meet a new family and photograph Baby Graham, or Gray for short. I was instantly in love with them the moment I stepped out of my car and was greeted by a friendly black lab who dropped a tennis ball at my feet and sat ready for me to throw it! It was my kind of place.

Gray is absolutely adorable and I loved every minute of our session. I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos when I am able to post a slideshow.

I also can’t wait until we do a family portrait session sometime later this year when Gray is a little bigger and able to sit up and smile on his own a little more. Big brother Fletcher and big sister Emma are also super cute, and my ball-chasin’ buddy Jackson will probably come along too to make things more fun.
