Congratulations Chad & Nicole

I love this first image from Chad and Nicole’s wedding today in Murfreesboro’s. Nicole’s grandmothers were giving her a little advice before her ceremony. I love it when you can see just how important family is through a photo like this.
Christy and I had a great time with these two families. The wedding was expertly coordinated by Wendy O’Neal of Smyrna, and every little detail fell right into place.
Chad and Nicole are off to Jamaica! We’re praying for safe travels and lots of fun for them. Slideshow will be posted this week, and full coverage in 2-3 weeks.
Matthew is 3 Months Old already?
July 28, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment

I cannot believe Baby Matthew is already 3 months old. It seems like yesterday that we were visiting proud parents Rick & Laura when he was barely a few weeks old.
Matthew was one of the best 3 month-old sessions that I have done yet. He didn’t cry or fuss, just hung out and smiled for us whenever we talked to him in the “high-pitched sweet baby tone.”
The complete gallery will be released in a few weeks. Watch the sidebar to the right to see when it moves from “Editing” to “Released.”
Jared & Katie’s Engagement Photos

Wow - this has to be one of the hottest engagement sessions I have done to date. I loved how these guys were willing to try anything and the images we got were SO worth it!
Yes, they are sitting IN the creek. I LOVE IT. I hope there are a hundred more couples out there who can think creatively with me and come up with a plan like Jared & Katie did to have a lot of fun during their engagement photos.
I am so blessed by your friendship and by your Christian examples. Here’s to you!

Just received this exciting email from Pictage:
Hi Alison,

Your design for Holli and Scott Ewing’s Wedding will be printed and displayed at PartnerCon and may even be used in future advertising for Pictage and AD2.0. We are also going to print and bind your album pages into a WillowBook Sequoia Album and display them there so that other photographers can draw inspiration from your beautiful design.
Thank you for your participation in this contest, and congratulations again on being in our Top 5.

Hanging out in the Garden of Edens…
July 25, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Ha ha, like they have never heard that before.
Yesterday I went to hang out with my dear friend Stephanie Edens to lend a little technical support with her photography venture. One thing that you don’t anticipate as a photographer is that so much of your business is based on your computer skills (as much or more than it is based on your pictures). Having figured it out for myself, I always jump at the chance to help a friend when they are trying to do the same thing.
So, as you can see, it wasn’t going too well at first…but we pressed on and figured it out. Steph’s kids were so cute too - Fletcher is a future golf star, Baby Gray (you may remember him as the baby I photographed on the antique scale) was well behaved, and little Emma, well, you can see for yourself that she was ready to perform! I love this family!
By the end of the afternoon, however, Steph’s blog now resides at a new personalized address, she is uploading her pictures to Pictage, she is uploading and posting slideshows AND is tracking her website stats. It was a productive and wonderful day!
And, the reference to the garden is a real one - they have this AWESOME garden and I brought home two big juicy red tomatoes (which I have already enjoyed with tuna salad last night and sliced with salt & pepper today) and three green ones…Fried Green Tomatoes are in my future this week.

This weekend took me a few hours from home to Memphis, Tennessee for the Langley/Permenter Wedding at the beautiful Cadre Building. If you’re not familiar, this location is in the heart of downtown Memphis, right next-door to the Rendezvous restaurant and a block from the Peabody hotel. It’s an awesome place for a wedding.
We had fun roaming around downtown for photos with style. Not only did I love being there with Nickie & Jeremy to celebrate, but this wedding party was so easy to work with - they were up for anything, and super fun! It made for a great day.
I will be posting a slideshow in the next few days, so stay tuned! And a big thank you to Kyle for being my second-shooter, assistant, chauffer and bodyguard. He’s the only second shooter I have ever employed who was actually slow-dancing with wedding guests by the end of the night. :o) I would not have wanted to do it without you!

Meet Sean & Dana! They are getting married in Franklin in October, and we caught up with each other last night for their engagement session. I was so excited to meet their new sweet puppy Molly. She is a doll.
Sean and Dana are self-proclaimed Starbucks addicts. So, it was fitting that a drink from Starbucks was a part of our session. It definitely captures them doing what they do at this point in their relationship. We had a great time.
Thanks for meeting me last night and I enjoyed seeing y’all and meeting Molly. Complete gallery will be available on Pictage in 2-3 weeks.
