Dana’s Bridal Portraits at Rippaville Plantation
August 26, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
No peeking at Dana’s Bridal Portraits until after her wedding day!
Sorry that I can’t share them yet, but I can TELL you how awesome she looked, and I can also TELL you what a perfect location the Rippavilla Plantation was for our session. If you’ve never been out there (and I had not), it would be a great day trip for history buffs. It’s out in Spring Hill - easily accessed from I-840 to I-65 to Saturn Pkwy.
Anyway - Dana, you looked beautiful and I am so happy for you. It will be my pleasure to photograph your wedding to Sean this October. I am really looking forward to it!
The Boys Are Back In Town…9 Month Portraits
August 22, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 3 Comments

Will and Jonah are good buddies and they came over today for their 9 month pictures. I was blessed to be at the hospital when both of these babies were born, and I have been watching them grow ever since. I am amazed at how their personalities develop more and more each time I see them. Though 9 months has been the most challenging session for me and the Moms so far, our efforts were not in vain - we have precious images that will be treasured by all in the years to come.
First was Mr. Will. We’re working on a Baby’s First Year Panel of him in his overalls, so this first one would be perfect for that. Then he always brings in something seasonal, and this time it was his swim-float and smashing bright green speedo. We really wanted a picture of Will with his Uncle Jared’s pet goldfish, Wallace, but it didn’t work out for us this time. Uncle Jared will keep Wallace looking fine and dandy until our 1-year session in October.
Next is Jonah, and his Baby’s First Year Panel is going to be in black & white, so here’s a shot of him sitting up so big on the stool. And I couldn’t resist posting this one of Jonah’s big blue eyes and his little teeth peeking out.
Jonah’s big brother Eli had to get in on the action, so I am posting this one because I know he’ll be checking out the pictures on the computer with his Mommy. Hey Eli!
And finally, I did find one “person” who didn’t mind having her picture made with Wallace the Goldfish…

Brad & Melissa’s Engagement Photos in Smyrna
August 20, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Meet Brad & Melissa, who will be married at Smyrna First United Methodist Church on October 7. We met out at the Sam Davis Home, where their reception will be, for a quick engagement shoot last night. We had a brief sprinkle of rain, not enough to cool us off, but these guys were so cute together that we didn’t have to endure the heat for too long to get some great images.
Full gallery will be released on Pictage in a couple weeks.
Owen is growin’…He’s 6 months old!
August 19, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment

I love getting the opportunity to be a Baby Photographer, especially when it’s right here in Smyrna, Tennessee! I hung out with the Graves Family for Owen’s 6 Month Session. I got to photograph Emily when Owen was still in her tummy, and then again right after he was born, and I look forward to many more sessions. Geoff wasn’t home when we did our last session, so he got to participate today and did an excellent job as a prop, poser and cuddler.
I think the picture of Owen sitting up on the bed might be my favorite from the day, but I haven’t gone through everything in detail, so I can’t be certain. There’s more to come…he was so sweet. Thanks for letting me photograph your family today!
Ashley’s Senior Pictures in Murfreesboro

I remember when Ashley was a baby, and now she is a Senior at Smyrna High School. Wow. She is a beautiful girl with a great sense of humor and we had fun last night for her Senior Portrait Session at Cannonsburgh in Murfreesboro. We had awesome light - some of my favorite shots are the ones where the sun is highlighting her hair. Here are a few early favorites, but there are a TON more that I just don’t have time to share. Slideshow coming soon…
**Website Update: The Old site is down, but the new one is not up yet. Stay tuned for the new site and remember, first person to let me know it is up wins the prize!**
Bynum Photography Kids Website

The website drama is continuing but progressing. I had a hard time sleeping last night because I thought my current website would go down at 12:00AM today, but when I got out of bed and checked, it is still there. This is a relief.
I did receive word this morning also that my domain name transfer was successful. Now I have updated the Name Servers (I am learning a lot, huh?) and I am just waiting for them to be - cool word - propagated! Then my new sites will appear. ***CONTEST*** The first person to email me at alison.bynum@comcast.net when the new site appears at BynumPhoto.com will receive either a free lifestyle portrait session ($195) or a $100 print credit towards ordering prints from your session on Pictage. Let the games begin!
Until next post, here’s a picture of the homepage of my BynumPhoto Kids site. There are 5 home page images, and currently the Stewart Family is the featured image on the “Family” section. That’s my favorite image from their whole session.
How beautiful is Dawn?
August 17, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 2 Comments
I don’t have much more to say but “WOW” because Dawn looked so beautiful today when she stopped by for some head shots. Dawn is writing and editing for Home Life Magazine and needed a picture for when she has articles published. We did over a hundred shots, so I can’t wait to pick up a copy of the magazine and find out which one she chooses.
Domain Name & Email Stress…
August 17, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

The day is drawing near for my old website to expire. I am terrified that it is going to go down before my new site comes up. Please bear with me during this transition.
To be safe, if you need to contact me until the new site goes live, please use my personal email address, alison.bynum@comcast.net. My business address is linked to my site, and if the site goes down I believe the email will also.
Until then, enjoy this preview of what the new home page will look like. Actually, the home page for the weddings site will have a slideshow of images and this is just one of them.
