Jonah is One. Happy Birthday Little Man!

October 30, 2006 | Filed Under babies | 3 Comments

Hey, Jonah is One Year Old, and we had fun today at his photo session. Our time together started off a little rocky, as most 9-18 months sessions do, but when we turned Jonah loose on the farm, he did great.

Big Brother Eli was happy to hang out and play with the puppies. I brought one home for the night, and she is crying in her crate as I am typing. But I know she’ll grow out of it…so Scotty, I think Eli and Becca and Jonah need a puppy. Come on…you know you want one too.

Thanks to Becca for all of her hard work with Jonah today. I wish I could have taken her picture as she was working on Jonah to smile or even look at the camera, or trying to get him to stand up. Too funny. You deserve a gold medal for your performance today!

Congratulations Bryan & Kelly - Nashville Wedding

It was a gorgeous Fall day in Nashville at the Oasis Worship Centre for Bryan & Kelly’s wedding. I have been looking forward to this day for quite some time now, as this wedding was booked well over a year ago.

Kelly was beautiful. This first shot shows how her eyes were sparkly, especially each time they welled up with tears. We went outside, braving the soft ground, the bright sun and the wind, to get some great shots in front of the trees. Then we took advantage of the cool interior of the church for another few shots.

I was blessed with two fabulous pro second shooters today. The first, Danielle Adams, got these next two shots. Danielle’s eye for detail was so great in getting shots like this one of Kelly’s dress, and also a different angle on some of our outdoor portraits.

My second second shooter you have met before - Phil Thornton is responsible for these next two shots. I LOVE the shot of the guys. He got so many creative shots like this while we were covering the ladies getting ready.

Shown here is a shot of Phil taking a few minutes during the reception to download all of our cards and assemble a slideshow, and then a shot by Danielle of a crowd of guests watching the show. It was a hit!!!

Thank you so much for working with me today Danielle & Phil. You were fabulous. And to Bryan & Kelly - have fun on your cruise! We’ll talk soon.

Father-Daughter Dance

This is a series of shots by my brother Kyle, at Lucius & Alison’s wedding in Memphis on Sept. 30. I am putting together their slideshow today and when I came across these shots I had to share them.

The Father-Daughter Dance is usually one of the most emotional moments at every wedding. This past weekend in Philadelphia my Mom and I were in puddles while Sheri & her dad were dancing.

Thanks Kyle for these great shots.

Everybody Loves Puppies

Meet my Mom & StepDad’s 10 AKC Lab Puppies. They are 4 weeks old, and there are still a few left if you’re interested.

More pics HERE.

Spending the whole day at home today. I have lots of editing and uploading to do, not to mention catching up on laundry, etc. after my trip. And it’s so cold here today, that I don’t mind staying cozy in my pj’s and fuzzy slippers to do just that!

Last Day in Philadelphia

October 22, 2006 | Filed Under blah blah blah, personal | 1 Comment

Well. we slept in this morning, and then checked out of the hotel and ventured into downtown Philadelphia to see a little of the city before we flew home today. We decided that having an authentic Philly Cheesesteak was of the utmost importance, so we went to Geno’s in South Philly and had lunch. It was well worth the trip.

We didn’t want Kyle to be late for his flight to Memphis (via Detroit - he’s hoping to watch a bit of the world series with other baseball fans there) so we came on to the airport in time to watch the end of the Eagles football game in a pub at the airport.

Our plane leaves in an hour, so we’re grabbing a soft pretzel and going to the gate.

Philadelphia Wedding - Congratulations Bill & Sheri

I think I am in love. With this couple, that is!

I can’t tell you how much fun we had today with Bill & Sheri in celebration of their marriage. I just loved being here to share the whole thing. Oh man, when you guys read this, know that I am serious - I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else in the world today!

We started out the day at the salon with the girls to get hair and makeup done. Then Mom & I went to Sheri’s house to photograph the girls getting ready and Kyle went over to John (best man) and Maureen’s house to catch Bill getting dressed. We met up with the super talented and fun to work with Laura Eaton at the church just in time for the ceremony.

(When I found out I would be shooting in Philly, I tried to think of a local photographer that I knew in the area. Laura is a fellow Pictage User (and also PUG Leader like me) and so I knew I would love it if she could come along and help us for the day. She was free and it worked out - and when she sends me her images next week, I will give her another special post! - Thanks Laura!)

After the ceremony, we went to a park with the wedding party for some outdoor shots in the fall colors, and then we went to the Bent Elbo Tavern, a local pub where Bill & Sheri met. Photo #6 is actually them sitting at the table where they first met! So cute.

Photographer photos at the bottom -one of Mom & Me, one of Laura & Me, and then one of Me, Bill & Sheri, and Kyle. Whew! There are so many great shots, that I may have to do a second post tomorrow! Look for it.

Our Friday in Philadelphia

October 20, 2006 | Filed Under blah blah blah, personal, wedding | 1 Comment

We had a lot of fun today in Philadelphia. It started out as a grey and dreary day. It was raining and the temperature fell steadily all day long. We picked up Kyle from the airport around 12, and then met Bill and Sheri at the Bent Elbo Tavern (where they met) for lunch.

As you can tell, the leaves have changed a lot more than in Tennessee right now. We scouted some photo locations after we finished eating.

We enjoyed the rehearsal at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral…it was a beautiful church. Then we ventured over to Bacco, an Italian restaurant near our hotel, for the rehearsal dinner. The menu was awesome there - they had some of the best antipasto salad and vodka pasta sauce I have ever eaten.

There is a chain of convenience stores up here called “Wawa” and they are also very cool. We got instant milkshakes on the way back to the hotel tonight.

See Mom’s Blog - Turner Farms for a few more pictures and hers/Kyle’s re-cap of our day. Can’t wait to shoot this wedding tomorrow!

PS. OH. We were excited to get on the plane in Nashville and run into our good friend Clay Cooper. He kept us company on the first leg of our trip. We got to see pics of some of his custom built furniture and his pets and family. Good to see you Clay!

Hey - My cast, my luggage, my mother and I all made it safely to Philadelphia today. We’re here to shoot Bill & Sheri’s wedding on Saturday.

Our hotel is conveniently located near a couple malls. SO, guess what we’ll be doing tonight? More later. There’s shopping to do!
