Out of the Office for the weekend

January 30, 2008 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 4 Comments

Tomorrow is a big day for us. We will be appearing in court to finalize Norah’s adoption and legally become a family. It is a day that has been much anticipated for the last 7 months and 5 days. We’ll have family in from out of town and be partying all weekend, so please give me until next week to get back with you if you need me.

Can you believe how big Miss Norah is getting? That little smile keeps shining on, even though her teeth are finally pushing through on the bottom.

To my engaged or newly married couples, love in this season of life is beautiful, and I was right there with you for the past 5 years. But when I became a mother, I learned a new dimension to love. When you think you have nothing more to give, it swells up within you and overflows. Being a mother to Norah is a blessing and a joy, and I give God the glory for her presence in my life.

Enjoyed spending time with this sweet family today.

This is Gentry, 18 months old and full of energy. He has a killer smile if you can keep him still enough to catch it. We played a lot of peekaboo today.

Three year old big sister Jaren, kissing on 6 week old little brother Easton.

A little snuggle time on the couch as a family

Easton was wide-eyed for a while and I love this expression.

This is Jaren’s favorite dog, Murphy

Mom cuddling with Gentry

Love this one of Gentry’s blue eyes

Dad worked the night shift in the Vandy E.R. so he was struggling to stay with us for the session. He volunteered to rock Easton to sleep - and this is what we found when we checked in on them.

Gentry was determined to play with the kitty, Sadie

Another shot of peaceful Easton

Sweet baby toes

Thanks for welcoming me into your home guys. I really enjoyed it. To see the Delk Family’s complete gallery when it is released, please click here to register.

December -
I didn’t shoot anything for my business this month. I was too busy playing catchup and am still working on that! I spent some much needed time with friends and family.

Some special thank you’s for the year -
-to God for the gift of this profession that I love
-to Brad, my husband, for being so understanding and supportive when I run here and there to document other families’ happy moments. Adding Norah to our family this year created extra responsibility for Brad each time I need to work instead of just leaving him with a day to himself. He is a great father and doesn’t mind being on his own with the baby and that’s just another reason that I love him so much.
-to Matt, who was a dependable and talented (okay - super talented) second shooter and pretty much a partner for me this year. Matt gave his time to us this year and edited several of my weddings for me when Norah arrived in our family so that I could take time off to be with her and not worry about work. Thanks to Erin, Matt’s wife, who let him do all of those things (wink wink). Your time is coming for me to return the favor.
-to my clients, who were so understanding a patient this year when Norah arrived and I needed to take time off to be with her. It was a crazy year and for those of you still hanging on for the ride, we’re still trucking and this year should be full of new surprises around every corner!
