Aren’t these two an adorable couple? They kept me laughing and having fun, even though it was a hot, sticky and bug-filled night at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro. More favorites…

Thanks so much guys!
Jeremy & Jenny, Wedding at Carriage Lane Inn in Murfreesboro

Sunday was a beautiful day for a wedding in the garden at Carriage Lane Inn in Murfreesboro. Jenny and her bridesmaids stayed all night in the Cottage and enjoyed getting ready leisurely through the afternoon.
Jeremy and the groomsmen arrived later and hung out in the Yellow House until it was time for a few photos.
Jenny warned me that things could get emotional. I thought it was sweet that it actually did…tears and laughter were all jumbled together.
The beautiful bride
The ceremony was packed!
I loved the details that Jenny chose for the bridesmaids…parasols, flip flops and those fabulous green floral dresses

Congratulations guys!

Southern Gospel Trio Providence Road

It was a treat to finally meet these ladies in person this week. I have been corresponding with Laura Sue for what seems like forever. Laura Sue, Lindsay and Christy have blended their voices to create a delightful Southern Gospel trio, Providence Road.
Meet Laura Sue Brod
Here’s Lindsey Huggins
And Christy Grant
A few of my favorite shots from our session at the Factory.
I had them sing for me - it was so fun. Kind of felt like a music video.

Laura Sue’s musical roots come from her granddaddy, gospel music legend MosieLister. The girls sing several of his songs, so they got him to join them for a couple of photos. Here’s Mosie & Laura Sue
And the whole gang

Baby Eloise has been hanging out with her grandmother (Boo) for a few days and I am so glad these girls invited me over to play.
I love that Boo saved some toys from her kids childhood. I guess you could call them vintage classics!
We played outside for a bit too.

Came inside again for a change of scenery. Eloise had fun playing in this basket!
Happy girl!
Some close up’s
Check out the sweet little teeth she has!
Hope to see you girls again sometime very soon! To view all of Baby Eloise’s pictures when they are released, please click here to register.

I spent some time with the Best Family to celebrate the adoption of their daughter Gwenelise from China. She will have been a part of this family for a year this weekend. We spent some time laughing and playing today at her grandparents’ home in Belle Meade to create this sweet collection of images.
Big brother Lance is my buddy. He is a spectacular joke-teller.

Celebrating Adoption - Drew

I first met Drew and his family during my Fall Mini-Sessions this October. He had only been home a few months, and he was a little under the weather, but he still managed to turn on the charm for us and we got some great images.
Shelly contacted me for a Celebrating Adoption session and I couldn’t wait to see how much he had grown! Thanks so much for having me over. We had a blast. We read books.
We played in Drew’s room.
We played with Bear.
We made a little mischief.
We laughed.
We played outside.
We used irises for swords.
It was grand.
Drew, I can’t wait to see you again soon buddy.

PS. Drew’s Mom just sent me this picture. I would rather cuddle with Drew in my lap than take his picture any day! Hope we can get our kids together to play really soon.
Mother’s Day Specials…

This is my favorite picture of me and my daughter. It was taken by our dear friend Andrea when Norah was about 8 weeks old.
Coming up on my first Mother’s Day I am feeling a lot of things. I feel so blessed to be a Mom. I feel care and concern for Norah’s first mom. I feel respect for my own Mother, Mother-in-law and Step-Mom. I feel happiness for my friends who are also celebrating. I feel hope for those still longing to become a Mom. I feel nostalgic in remembering my grandmothers.
Back to that image of me & Norah…Something else I love about it is that I own it. Andrea still retains the copyright, but also gave me permission to use it as I desire. I have the digital file, backed up in a couple of places in my home, and out there on the web, and I KNOW that I will have it as long as possible. I could make a large print, a canvas, a photo purse, jewelry, a scrapbook - anything - to preserve and display this moment forever. As a Mom, when I have photos made of my daughter or my family, my number one priority is the digital files.
SO, my Mother’s Day special is this: to offer you the chance to purchase a DVD of high-resolution digital files from your portrait session for $100. Any portrait session that I have ever taken, from 2004 when I officially launched this business to the present. If I have shot your session but haven’t released it yet, you can still go ahead and purchase your files. OR, if you would like to purchase your wedding negatives, you may do so for $500.
The details: You must contact me to complete the purchase by the end of the day on Friday May 9. DVD’s and reprint releases will be mailed out on Tuesday May 13.
Email me to let me know you’re in! Hope that helps make your day extra-special!
Eli is One! One Year Portraits at Cannonsburgh
May 5, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family | 1 Comment
Well, it has begun. Norah’s little buddies are turning One. She only has a few more weeks until it is her turn. It can make me all teary-eyed if I start thinking about it for long.
This is our pal Eli.
I kind of just want to call him “Old Blue Eyes” after looking at these pictures. He’s a handsome boy that teaches my daughter all kinds of tricks at Mothers Day Out and Sunday School.
He likes to pull her bow out of her hair, and is pretty patient when she tackles him back.
We were in Small Group for a while with Eli’s parents. His Mama, Nicole, plus Nana and Mimi came along to help with our session. And Aunt Sara was Norah’s baby wrangler for the day - we truly appreciate you too!
Did a little fishing in the creek at Cannonsburgh in Murfreesboro.
The water was a little chilly for these little toes.
Snuggles from Mama were a fun way to end our session.

Happy Birthday Eli! Here’s to many years of birthday parties, kids musicals, Vacation Bible School and graduations ahead of us!
Rebecca & Dan, Wedding at Belle Meade Plantation
May 5, 2008 | Filed Under wedding | Leave a Comment
On Saturday, Steph and I headed out to the Belle Meade Plantation to photograph Rebecca & Dan’s wedding.
I knew it was going to be a good day when I uncovered Rebecca’s Paloma Blanca wedding gown (purchased from Arzelle’s in Nashville).
Rebecca chose a cheery color palette of bright pink (bridesmaids dresses from J.Crew), orange and yellow to bring her wedding day to life.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
The light for portraits following the ceremony was amazing. The awesome bouquet of peonies was thanks to the brilliant Tulip Tree.
Food was catered by Monell’s and the traditional southern dinner of fried chicken, barbecue, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet corn, rolls, salads and the sweetest sweet tea was a nice treat for the wedding guests since most were out of town visitors.
This adorable cake was designed by the folks at Dulce Desserts in Hillsboro Village.
First Dance as the sun was slowly falling below the horizon. Jeff from Nashville Party Authority kept the music going and the majority of the wedding guests on the dance floor for the whole night.
Rebecca & Dan - it was a pleasure being with you on Saturday. Congratulations!
