Hollomon Family Portraits in Smyrna

I remember well our last photo session as a family before we had any children. It was a fun and precious time. Didn’t take us long to prepare for at all, and we took Katy with us because she was the closest thing to a child we had at the time. So much fun to share this same time with Chris & Dawn as they wait patiently for a referral for their son in Ethiopia.

And for those of you who know Chris, this picture sums up what I thought the whole session might be like. He didn’t let me down!

Celebrating Adoption - Weimer Family, Blessings from Ethiopia

October 31, 2008 | Filed Under celebrating adoption, family, kids | Leave a Comment

The Weimer’s are not your typical family, which of course, makes me love them even more! They have three biological children, have adopted a set of three siblings from Ethiopia, and are actually planning to adopt another set of three in the next few months. Eat that, Jon & Kate, they will have NINE kids.

Anyway, check out this beautiful family, joined by love for Jesus and a desire to follow Him in obedience. And please click here to see how you can help bring home children 7, 8 and 9. Your gift matters.

Thanks guys - see you again next year!

Delk Family Photos, Murfreesboro

I have been shooting a ton at Cannonsburgh lately. I think it’s because no matter how many times I go, I always see something new. I have favorite spots there, but I challenge myself to always try a background that I have never done with anyone else while I am there. It’s also a comfortable and easy place to spend time. It’s contained, it interests children, usually not too crowded, etc.

I met up with the Delk Family for the second time this year! Can’t believe that little Easton has gotten so big since our session in January.

It’s been a crazy Fall around here…stay tuned for more fun family sneak previews from this past weekend and from a wedding this Saturday!

Graham, Senior Pictures in Murfreesboro

October 23, 2008 | Filed Under senior pictures | 1 Comment

Graham is graduating from MTSU really soon, and because his Mom really wanted him to, he met up with me for a round of college senior pictures.

I tried to select images that show off various aspects of Graham’s personality. I also wanted to show off these awesome blue eyes.

I can only imagine that Ms Trudy looks at his eyelashes and this sweet calm expression and wonders where the time has gone. Her baby boy is all grown up!

This one is my favorite.

Thank you so much Graham for doing this for your mother. She will treasure the photos always, I am certain!

Stanley Kids Photo Session in Murfreesboro

October 23, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family, kids | Leave a Comment

I had so much fun last Saturday morning hanging out at the Stanley’s house. Our goals were several shots of baby Beck for a canvas wall print, and then some photos of the kids all together for Christmas cards, etc. Here’s a few favorites of Beck by himself…

I love shooting in the homes of my clients. This awesome fireplace was the perfect spot for this grouping of the kids together, and some portraits of each child.

Then I got all excited to see these beautiful red Christmas outfits. We got out instruments and made some great music. Wish you could have heard the songs we sang together to get these happy faces!

Thanks to the Stanley’s for inviting me into your family!

Brian & Crystal, Engagement Session

October 20, 2008 | Filed Under engagement | 1 Comment

I met Crystal last year when I was at a salon in Memphis photographing Julie and her daughters getting their hair done for Mike & Julie’s Wedding. We chatted briefly, she asked for my business card, and I didn’t think anything else of it. I was so excited when she emailed me about photographing her own wedding this year.

We actually met up in Bolivar a few weeks ago while we were home visiting Brad’s family. I love shooting there because I am fairly unfamiliar with the area - so it presents me with the challenge of scouting new locations. I love what we came up with. We had the most beautiful sunny day to be out and about!

Can’t wait to see you guys this weekend for the wedding.

Jones Family, Murfreesboro

October 20, 2008 | Filed Under family, kids | 1 Comment

Haven’t kept up with the Joneses much since I photographed Mary Margaret’s homecoming party when she arrived from China a few years ago. I loved spending time with them at John’s family’s homeplace - built in the early 1800’s. Tracy had all the kids clothes organized and we zipped through a ton of outfit changes all within 2 hours. The kids were great and I am so proud of our results! It was really tough to narrow them down for the blog - they are all good!

More are on the way…

I’m back

Bet you didn’t even know I was gone, right?

Our family has been so blessed in the past few weeks. If you’re not totally up to speed, please hop over to visit our family blog and get a glimpse into our life. In case you don’t even have time for that, here’s a picture of my TWO daughters hanging out last week.

Big sister Norah is settling into her role pretty nicely. Little sister Charlotte is just trying to fly below the radar and figure out this crazy place we call home. This morning we were all up at 6AM - something that Norah and I NEVER did - but we’re making it okay.

We are going to do our best to keep moving forward on our busy Fall season. We have much to edit and much left to shoot, but one step at a time I think we’ll get there. Thank goodness for Kate, is all I have to say!

No Words.

October 5, 2008 | Filed Under babies, personal | 3 Comments

It’s Sunday night about 11:45PM.

We have raised $12,600.

There are no words to describe how humbled we are that you would share with us. It is nothing we have done - it is ALL God and we thank you for your obedience to His call.

We spent the weekend in West TN celebrating Granddaddy’s 60th Birthday. Thought you’d like to see a couple of the prettiest babies I have ever seen sporting custom painted shirts by Aunt Shai.

I have much more to say but honestly, I am exhausted. I shot an engagement session in West TN this morning, then we travelled home today, whirlwind straightened up our house, had small group, got the baby in bed, plopped down to update our donations and then post this blog - and now I am happy to say I am going to be in bed before midnight. That’s the earliest I have been to bed in weeks!

More information as we get it. Thank you again. You are amazing.
