No Words.

October 5, 2008 | Filed Under babies, personal | 3 Comments

It’s Sunday night about 11:45PM.

We have raised $12,600.

There are no words to describe how humbled we are that you would share with us. It is nothing we have done - it is ALL God and we thank you for your obedience to His call.

We spent the weekend in West TN celebrating Granddaddy’s 60th Birthday. Thought you’d like to see a couple of the prettiest babies I have ever seen sporting custom painted shirts by Aunt Shai.

I have much more to say but honestly, I am exhausted. I shot an engagement session in West TN this morning, then we travelled home today, whirlwind straightened up our house, had small group, got the baby in bed, plopped down to update our donations and then post this blog - and now I am happy to say I am going to be in bed before midnight. That’s the earliest I have been to bed in weeks!

More information as we get it. Thank you again. You are amazing.

I love it when I get the opportunity to photograph my wedding clients as they enter another new phase of life - parenthood! This morning I had so much fun photographing one week old baby Adelynn, daughter of Mike & Jen. Here’s my favorites…

Big brother Ben got in on the action too.

And I LOVE this one. Beautiful girls.

Lanie Ann is ONE!

Miss Lanie Ann is ONE. Was it really a year ago that I was snapping pictures like this one?

And now, she’s standing up and talking and taking the world by storm.

And OH she loves her big brother Landon. I love him too!

Lanie Ann, Happy Birthday! Here’s to many more. Love you!

Corwin is ONE

June 12, 2008 | Filed Under babies | Leave a Comment

Corwin came today for his one year photo session. One year olds are one of the trickiest ages for studio portraits, in my opinion, followed closely by 18 months and 9 months. Choosing to photograph 3 one year olds and a 9 month old all in two days might actually prove that I am crazy!

Corwin did so great. Can you believe that his mama Tracy made this outfit? I love the ecru edging that she put on it.

My favorite of the whole day

In the outfit both of his big brothers wore in their one year pictures.

One year t-shirt

And devouring a birthday cake!

Tracy & Gary, thank you so much for choosing me to capture Corwin’s first year. It has been a blessing and a privilege!

Baby Eloise, 8 Month Portraits in Brentwood

May 10, 2008 | Filed Under babies | Leave a Comment

Baby Eloise has been hanging out with her grandmother (Boo) for a few days and I am so glad these girls invited me over to play.

I love that Boo saved some toys from her kids childhood. I guess you could call them vintage classics!

We played outside for a bit too.

Came inside again for a change of scenery. Eloise had fun playing in this basket!

Happy girl!

Some close up’s

Check out the sweet little teeth she has!

Hope to see you girls again sometime very soon! To view all of Baby Eloise’s pictures when they are released, please click here to register.

Celebrating Adoption - Drew

May 8, 2008 | Filed Under babies, celebrating adoption, kids | Leave a Comment

I first met Drew and his family during my Fall Mini-Sessions this October. He had only been home a few months, and he was a little under the weather, but he still managed to turn on the charm for us and we got some great images.

Shelly contacted me for a Celebrating Adoption session and I couldn’t wait to see how much he had grown! Thanks so much for having me over. We had a blast. We read books.

We played in Drew’s room.

We played with Bear.

We made a little mischief.

We laughed.

We played outside.

We used irises for swords.

It was grand.

Drew, I can’t wait to see you again soon buddy.

PS. Drew’s Mom just sent me this picture. I would rather cuddle with Drew in my lap than take his picture any day! Hope we can get our kids together to play really soon.

Mother’s Day Specials…

This is my favorite picture of me and my daughter. It was taken by our dear friend Andrea when Norah was about 8 weeks old.

Coming up on my first Mother’s Day I am feeling a lot of things. I feel so blessed to be a Mom. I feel care and concern for Norah’s first mom. I feel respect for my own Mother, Mother-in-law and Step-Mom. I feel happiness for my friends who are also celebrating. I feel hope for those still longing to become a Mom. I feel nostalgic in remembering my grandmothers.

Back to that image of me & Norah…Something else I love about it is that I own it. Andrea still retains the copyright, but also gave me permission to use it as I desire. I have the digital file, backed up in a couple of places in my home, and out there on the web, and I KNOW that I will have it as long as possible. I could make a large print, a canvas, a photo purse, jewelry, a scrapbook - anything - to preserve and display this moment forever. As a Mom, when I have photos made of my daughter or my family, my number one priority is the digital files.

SO, my Mother’s Day special is this: to offer you the chance to purchase a DVD of high-resolution digital files from your portrait session for $100. Any portrait session that I have ever taken, from 2004 when I officially launched this business to the present. If I have shot your session but haven’t released it yet, you can still go ahead and purchase your files. OR, if you would like to purchase your wedding negatives, you may do so for $500.

The details: You must contact me to complete the purchase by the end of the day on Friday May 9. DVD’s and reprint releases will be mailed out on Tuesday May 13.

Email me to let me know you’re in! Hope that helps make your day extra-special!

Eli is One! One Year Portraits at Cannonsburgh

May 5, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family | 1 Comment

Well, it has begun. Norah’s little buddies are turning One. She only has a few more weeks until it is her turn. It can make me all teary-eyed if I start thinking about it for long.

This is our pal Eli.

I kind of just want to call him “Old Blue Eyes” after looking at these pictures. He’s a handsome boy that teaches my daughter all kinds of tricks at Mothers Day Out and Sunday School.

He likes to pull her bow out of her hair, and is pretty patient when she tackles him back.

We were in Small Group for a while with Eli’s parents. His Mama, Nicole, plus Nana and Mimi came along to help with our session. And Aunt Sara was Norah’s baby wrangler for the day - we truly appreciate you too!

Did a little fishing in the creek at Cannonsburgh in Murfreesboro.

The water was a little chilly for these little toes.

Snuggles from Mama were a fun way to end our session.

Happy Birthday Eli! Here’s to many years of birthday parties, kids musicals, Vacation Bible School and graduations ahead of us!

Madalyn Rose, Six Weeks

April 27, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family | 1 Comment

My friends Shawn and Tiffany are the proud parents of precious six week old Madalyn Rose. I got to peek in on their life at home this past week.

Miss Madalyn was so sleepy while I was there. Pretty normal for her age. She tolerated us changing her clothes and then dozed back to sleep.

These are my favorite shots of the day. The light in Madalyn’s room was so soft. She actually opened those beautiful eyes to check out what we were up to.

A few more…

Shawn & Tiffany - congratulations! Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home.
