Mother’s Day Specials…

This is my favorite picture of me and my daughter. It was taken by our dear friend Andrea when Norah was about 8 weeks old.
Coming up on my first Mother’s Day I am feeling a lot of things. I feel so blessed to be a Mom. I feel care and concern for Norah’s first mom. I feel respect for my own Mother, Mother-in-law and Step-Mom. I feel happiness for my friends who are also celebrating. I feel hope for those still longing to become a Mom. I feel nostalgic in remembering my grandmothers.
Back to that image of me & Norah…Something else I love about it is that I own it. Andrea still retains the copyright, but also gave me permission to use it as I desire. I have the digital file, backed up in a couple of places in my home, and out there on the web, and I KNOW that I will have it as long as possible. I could make a large print, a canvas, a photo purse, jewelry, a scrapbook - anything - to preserve and display this moment forever. As a Mom, when I have photos made of my daughter or my family, my number one priority is the digital files.
SO, my Mother’s Day special is this: to offer you the chance to purchase a DVD of high-resolution digital files from your portrait session for $100. Any portrait session that I have ever taken, from 2004 when I officially launched this business to the present. If I have shot your session but haven’t released it yet, you can still go ahead and purchase your files. OR, if you would like to purchase your wedding negatives, you may do so for $500.
The details: You must contact me to complete the purchase by the end of the day on Friday May 9. DVD’s and reprint releases will be mailed out on Tuesday May 13.
Email me to let me know you’re in! Hope that helps make your day extra-special!
Celebrating Adoption Photo Session: 3 Months
February 29, 2008 | Filed Under babies, celebrating adoption | 2 Comments
My favorite time of the month is when I get to do a Celebrating Adoption Photo Shoot to help another family welcome an adopted child into their family.
I hung out with another family that I met through the Bethany community. Dad had to work, but I got the chance to photograph Mom and Little Man doing what they do every day at home. It was great.
Here’s Little Man playing in his bouncy seat while Mom made his bottle.
Mom is so proud of her baby. Can’t you tell by this smile she is smitten?
I loved how when she burped him, he hugged her arm. So sweet. Makes me miss my “little baby” days with Norah.
Little Man definitely loves his Mom right back. Look at them cracking up at each other.
He wears some very stylish and eco-friendly cloth diapers. We liked how his little tummy sticks over them.
Baby toes - as good as it gets. They don’t stay this small for long.
Who knew putting your socks on could be this fun?
Time to settle down for a nap. All of this playing wears a guy out.
Thanks for letting me take a peek into your life for a little while. I hope you enjoy the photos. Congratulations on your sweet baby boy. To view this complete gallery when it is released, please click here to register.
Sweet Mary Elizabeth, almost 3 months

Remember these guys from a few posts back? Well Norah and I spent the day with the girls on Friday and had a few minutes to photograph little Mary Elizabeth.
Does ths dress look familiar? We were happy to share!
This outfit was made for M.E. by her interim care mother. It is so pure and simple and I love these images.
Brea & Jonathan, thanks for sharing your family with me!

Here’s a couple for the Freeman Family. I met Brea through the Bethany Christian Services adoption forums. The Freeman’s just brought home little Mary Elizabeth this month. She is just topping 5 pounds…and every bit as sweet as she looks.

Celebrating Adoption Photo Session: Kiel, One Year
October 16, 2007 | Filed Under celebrating adoption, kids | 3 Comments
I am so excited to tell you about a new organization with which I am affiliated. Celebrating Adoption is committed to providing new adoptive families with professional images of their children, to help them celebrate the expansion of their family. Being a new adoptive mom myself, and knowing how much it meant to me to have photographer friends offer to photograph Norah and our family, I felt that it was only right for me to “pay it forward” in this way.
So, my first Celebrating Adoption photo session was with Mr. Kiel today. He just turned one, and if you know what photographing a one year old is like, you know how much we moved around this morning to create these images!
I gave him a leaf…he immediately ate it.
I think he looks so cute in his little hat!
I don’t think Mom was too sure when I suggested that we let Kiel sit in his grandpa’s truck, but I am tickled with these two images too!
If you want more information on Celebrating Adoption sessions with me, shoot me an email. I am scheduling one per month, and I have already booked quite a few months, so the sooner you contact me the better your chance of getting a session. A Day in the Life of Rylie Grace
November 11, 2006 | Filed Under babies, celebrating adoption, family, kids | 1 Comment

I woke up this morning to a little pain in my wrist, and I knew it must be raining. Since I got this new pink cast my wrist has been hurting a little more than it did before, but this is normal. I guess the new cast is pushing on the bones a little more.
This little twinge couldn’t stop me from heading out to Spring Hill to play with precious 1 year-old Rylie Grace and her parents at their home. We had fun getting to know each other while she was still in her adorable pajamas.
Next we splashed during bath time. Even her dog Barkley joined in the fun.
Then she put on her birthday hat and modeled her special dress for me. I love this shot!
Rylie Grace knows sign language and was able to tell Mom & Dad that she was hungry. So we got some shots of a mid-morning snack, complete with milk to drink.
Thanks for letting me come and play today!
