Family Portraits in Antioch, Graves Family

The last time I photographed little Owen was about two years ago when he was only 6 months old.
Fast forward to today - what a handsome guy!
Owen and his parents and grandparents came out to Turner Farms today for a lifestyle family photo session in the great outdoors. It was pretty miserable really hot, so I thank y’all for hanging in there with me. Did I mention it was hot?
Owen is two and a half…enough said. We had our work cut out for us but I think we accomplished the goal!
Racing with dad, one of Owen’s favorite things to do.

Sweet little family
Owen and I had a long discussion about the movie Cars in this photo
This child is so beautiful. Truly truly beautiful.
I would like to point out the clothing selections that this group (Emily) chose for today’s session. They are bright, cheery, summery and well coordinated but not identical. Great job! Thanks again for coming to see me today!

Meet my friend Stephanie
Stephanie and I met in the 8th grade and have remained great friends ever since. Her family has traveled the world to tell people about Jesus. Her parents June & Sam are home for the year to raise support to return to their work in Spain.
Steph’s sister Suzanne recently married Jonathan and they are about to move to Florida.
Stephanie wanted the chance to have some family photos before they all went their separate ways for a while.

We couldn’t forget Suzanne & Jonathan’s baby, Nemo

One more of Stephanie, because she is so beautiful!
It was great to see y’all today. Let me know if you ever want my help with your next “baseball card”!
Celebrating Adoption - Klimek Family
June 17, 2008 | Filed Under celebrating adoption, family | 3 Comments
This sweet family drove in from East Tennessee for a Celebrating Adoption photo session. Mom & Dad were tickled for me to meet little Mr. Lee - a 14 month old sweetheart from Guatemala.

Don’t you know Dad enjoyed his first Fathers Day this year?

Kisses for Mom
Congratulations guys! Thank you for letting me photograph you with your SON!
Robert & McKenzie, 5 Year Anniversary
June 16, 2008 | Filed Under engagement, family | Leave a Comment
I was honored when McKenzie asked me to take some photographs of her and her husband Robert on their 5 year wedding anniversary. I just had no idea that it was going to be gloomy and rainy outside for the morning. We made the best of the weather we had out at Turner Farms and ended up with a sweet collection of images that I think they will treasure.

I love how you can see raindrops coming down if you look closely.

Thanks for hanging in there with me “Brian” and McKenzie (for some reason I kept calling Robert by the name “Brian”). Talk to y’all soon!

Bret & Susie are preparing to embark on the journey of a lifetime. They are preparing to move to Brazil where they will love people and be the hands and feet of Christ in the community. It’s much like what they are doing right now…just in Brazil.

Bret & Susie’s website is under construction, but check back over the next several months as they begin their new life in Brazil.
We love you guys.
Celebrating Adoption - Gwenelise

I spent some time with the Best Family to celebrate the adoption of their daughter Gwenelise from China. She will have been a part of this family for a year this weekend. We spent some time laughing and playing today at her grandparents’ home in Belle Meade to create this sweet collection of images.
Big brother Lance is my buddy. He is a spectacular joke-teller.

Mother’s Day Specials…

This is my favorite picture of me and my daughter. It was taken by our dear friend Andrea when Norah was about 8 weeks old.
Coming up on my first Mother’s Day I am feeling a lot of things. I feel so blessed to be a Mom. I feel care and concern for Norah’s first mom. I feel respect for my own Mother, Mother-in-law and Step-Mom. I feel happiness for my friends who are also celebrating. I feel hope for those still longing to become a Mom. I feel nostalgic in remembering my grandmothers.
Back to that image of me & Norah…Something else I love about it is that I own it. Andrea still retains the copyright, but also gave me permission to use it as I desire. I have the digital file, backed up in a couple of places in my home, and out there on the web, and I KNOW that I will have it as long as possible. I could make a large print, a canvas, a photo purse, jewelry, a scrapbook - anything - to preserve and display this moment forever. As a Mom, when I have photos made of my daughter or my family, my number one priority is the digital files.
SO, my Mother’s Day special is this: to offer you the chance to purchase a DVD of high-resolution digital files from your portrait session for $100. Any portrait session that I have ever taken, from 2004 when I officially launched this business to the present. If I have shot your session but haven’t released it yet, you can still go ahead and purchase your files. OR, if you would like to purchase your wedding negatives, you may do so for $500.
The details: You must contact me to complete the purchase by the end of the day on Friday May 9. DVD’s and reprint releases will be mailed out on Tuesday May 13.
Email me to let me know you’re in! Hope that helps make your day extra-special!
Eli is One! One Year Portraits at Cannonsburgh
May 5, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family | 1 Comment
Well, it has begun. Norah’s little buddies are turning One. She only has a few more weeks until it is her turn. It can make me all teary-eyed if I start thinking about it for long.
This is our pal Eli.
I kind of just want to call him “Old Blue Eyes” after looking at these pictures. He’s a handsome boy that teaches my daughter all kinds of tricks at Mothers Day Out and Sunday School.
He likes to pull her bow out of her hair, and is pretty patient when she tackles him back.
We were in Small Group for a while with Eli’s parents. His Mama, Nicole, plus Nana and Mimi came along to help with our session. And Aunt Sara was Norah’s baby wrangler for the day - we truly appreciate you too!
Did a little fishing in the creek at Cannonsburgh in Murfreesboro.
The water was a little chilly for these little toes.
Snuggles from Mama were a fun way to end our session.

Happy Birthday Eli! Here’s to many years of birthday parties, kids musicals, Vacation Bible School and graduations ahead of us!
Madalyn Rose, Six Weeks
April 27, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family | 1 Comment
My friends Shawn and Tiffany are the proud parents of precious six week old Madalyn Rose. I got to peek in on their life at home this past week.

Miss Madalyn was so sleepy while I was there. Pretty normal for her age. She tolerated us changing her clothes and then dozed back to sleep.

These are my favorite shots of the day. The light in Madalyn’s room was so soft. She actually opened those beautiful eyes to check out what we were up to.

A few more…

Shawn & Tiffany - congratulations! Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home.

Rebecca Paige at the Factory at Franklin, 6 months
April 25, 2008 | Filed Under babies, family | Leave a Comment
It’s been about 18 months since I photographed Sean & Dana’s wedding in Franklin and almost two years since I photographed their engagement photos. If you click on the link to the post about their wedding, you’ll get a good chuckle seeing me shooting a wedding with a big huge cast on my arm. Dana was so calm and collected the day of her wedding. She didn’t even look alarmed when I showed up on her wedding day in a cast and with two additional photographers to help cover me. She is just that cool.
I was thrilled to hear that she and Sean were expecting a little girl just after Norah joined our family. We met out at the Factory where I got to meet this sweet baby for the first time.
Dana says she is a “Daddy’s Girl.” I think she is right.
Thank you, thank you so much for sharing your daughter with me for a little bit. She is precious and I am so happy for you guys. It will be a joy to watch her grow up into the beautiful woman that I know you will raise her to be. Hope to see you again soon!
