No Words.

It’s Sunday night about 11:45PM.
We have raised $12,600.
There are no words to describe how humbled we are that you would share with us. It is nothing we have done - it is ALL God and we thank you for your obedience to His call.
We spent the weekend in West TN celebrating Granddaddy’s 60th Birthday. Thought you’d like to see a couple of the prettiest babies I have ever seen sporting custom painted shirts by Aunt Shai.
I have much more to say but honestly, I am exhausted. I shot an engagement session in West TN this morning, then we travelled home today, whirlwind straightened up our house, had small group, got the baby in bed, plopped down to update our donations and then post this blog - and now I am happy to say I am going to be in bed before midnight. That’s the earliest I have been to bed in weeks!
More information as we get it. Thank you again. You are amazing.
We need $12,000 in 48 hours - do I have your attention?

We need $12,000 in 48 hours…
because Norah is going to be a big sister.
And her birthmother has just asked us to adopt the baby – Norah’s full biological sibling.
And he or she could be born any day!
We would have liked to have come up with a clever fundraiser, but to be honest, we don’t have time for that. We are cramming the adoption application process (that took us 8 months when we adopted Norah) into the next week. Babies don’t wait for paperwork, background checks or physicals. They come in God’s timing.
We are completely overwhelmed by the task at hand, but we know that God would not give us this opportunity to trust Him and open our hearts and home to this child if He did not intend to provide a means for us to do it.
We are praying for a miracle – that you who feel led to do so would pray and give however you can. You can click here to go to our secure donation page that is connected to our Adoption Savings Account. We believe that with your help, when we need to write “the BIG CHECK” in a few days, there will be enough in there for us to do so. If you’d prefer to mail us a check, you can email me and I will send you our mailing address. Also email if you want information on how to donate and receive a tax deduction from our adoption agency.
If you feel compelled, we would love for you to help us spread the word on your blogs, websites, facebook, emails to friends and family. Link back to this post as much as you’d like, and we’ll keep you updated over the next couple of days.
As you discuss this on blogs and among friends, please be as respectful of Norah’s birthmother as you possibly can be. We are choosing to walk in love and compassion instead of judgment and entitlement. If the choice to place this baby with us is her final decision, we will be blessed to now raise two of her precious children as our own. If she decides that she would like to parent the baby herself, we will be pleased to have been given the opportunity to care for Norah’s brother or sister for a few days or weeks and minister to Norah’s birthmother in a way that only we can.
As always, we need you to pray. Pray that God would be glorified through this whole experience. Pray that Norah’s birthmother would experience compassion and love by those around her during this time. Pray for the health of this new little life.
And pray for our sweet baby Norah – because she’s GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER in just a few days. WOW!!!

West Africa Photos by Brad Bynum

Well, my husband just got back from a trip to West Africa, and he took some amazing photos of the villages and the people that he met while there. These are some of my favorites:

This is my very favorite photo that he took in West Africa. I want to print it big for our walls.

(Obviously if he is in the photo, one of his team mates took it!)
On their way in they had a layover in Paris, so they went out sightseeing. These are my two favorite photos he took in Paris.
I love you Brad Bynum. You’re a rockstar.
A glimpse at my days

Being the mother of a one year old is a fabulous way to spend my summer days. Here’s a quick pick of Norah and our newest baby, Simon Peter (4 month old Lab) cooling off in the back yard!

Mother’s Day Specials…

This is my favorite picture of me and my daughter. It was taken by our dear friend Andrea when Norah was about 8 weeks old.
Coming up on my first Mother’s Day I am feeling a lot of things. I feel so blessed to be a Mom. I feel care and concern for Norah’s first mom. I feel respect for my own Mother, Mother-in-law and Step-Mom. I feel happiness for my friends who are also celebrating. I feel hope for those still longing to become a Mom. I feel nostalgic in remembering my grandmothers.
Back to that image of me & Norah…Something else I love about it is that I own it. Andrea still retains the copyright, but also gave me permission to use it as I desire. I have the digital file, backed up in a couple of places in my home, and out there on the web, and I KNOW that I will have it as long as possible. I could make a large print, a canvas, a photo purse, jewelry, a scrapbook - anything - to preserve and display this moment forever. As a Mom, when I have photos made of my daughter or my family, my number one priority is the digital files.
SO, my Mother’s Day special is this: to offer you the chance to purchase a DVD of high-resolution digital files from your portrait session for $100. Any portrait session that I have ever taken, from 2004 when I officially launched this business to the present. If I have shot your session but haven’t released it yet, you can still go ahead and purchase your files. OR, if you would like to purchase your wedding negatives, you may do so for $500.
The details: You must contact me to complete the purchase by the end of the day on Friday May 9. DVD’s and reprint releases will be mailed out on Tuesday May 13.
Email me to let me know you’re in! Hope that helps make your day extra-special!
Blog CPR

Did you notice we performed a little blog CPR over the past couple of weeks? I broke my blog. I really don’t know how I did it, but I did. So my buddy Phil Thornton, Pixel Kicker helped me out and I am back in the blogosphere. Sigh. I have missed you, photo blog.
Check out these snazzy new larger images…nice, huh?
I figured I would post a picture of my daughter, since you probably haven’t seen her in a while. She will be one year old in about 6 weeks. I can hardly believe it. She can stand up for about 30-60 seconds before she decides she is done and plops down to crawl off to eat grass play.
Make sure to re-subscribe to this blog in your readers to update the feed, because this spring and summer are full of fun photos around every corner!

The Cast is the Photographer’s Must Have Accessory of the Season
November 10, 2006 | Filed Under blah blah blah, personal | 1 Comment
Ha Ha. Here’s a funny shot of me and my dear friend Amber Holritz at the OSP-South Conference on Monday. We both are modeling the black wrist cast, which all of the coolest photographers are sporting this season.
Actually, I just went to the Doctor yesterday (shout-out to the wonderful Dr. Steinagle) and he prescribed two more weeks in the short cast. So I now have a bubble gum pink cast until the Monday after Thanksgiving. Then it will be a velcro brace for a while combined with physical therapy and I will be good as new.
When I get a decent photo of the pink cast I will post it. For now enjoy the pic of Amber and me modeling our clumsiness.
