Delk Family Photos, Murfreesboro

I have been shooting a ton at Cannonsburgh lately. I think it’s because no matter how many times I go, I always see something new. I have favorite spots there, but I challenge myself to always try a background that I have never done with anyone else while I am there. It’s also a comfortable and easy place to spend time. It’s contained, it interests children, usually not too crowded, etc.

I met up with the Delk Family for the second time this year! Can’t believe that little Easton has gotten so big since our session in January.

It’s been a crazy Fall around here…stay tuned for more fun family sneak previews from this past weekend and from a wedding this Saturday!

Blake Family Portraits in Murfreesboro

I met our dear friends the Blake’s for a family portrait session today at Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village in Murfreesboro. They needed to update the family photos since little Max came along. The boys were so good, and I love the shot of Derek & Rhonda together. I will bet raising 3 boys that are so close in age can present some challenges to a relationship. But just seeing them interact with each other for a couple of minutes you can tell that these two are so much in love. It’s a deeper, more comfortable kind of love than when they were newlyweds.

Hope you enjoy these previews!

Jansen Family Portraits in Memphis, TN

Isn’t this a sweet family? Meet Tim & Valerie and their daughter Hannah. I went to middle school with Valerie and we kept in touch through mutual friends over the years. It was an honor when Valerie referred me to her sister Pooh for her wedding this May (here’s a picture) and after that she asked if I was coming to Memphis sometime because she would love for me to photograph her family. I am happy it worked out that I was already coming to town and was able to do the session today.

Also joining us for the session were Tim’s father (Rick) and brother (Todd). You can tell that Hannah has this whole family wrapped around her little finger. They all love her SO much.

Don’t you love her duck costume? Valerie had to buy it off ebay because she wasn’t able to find it in the stores after it was on the cover of Parents Magazine.

Hope you enjoy these sneak previews, and there’s more to come! Thanks Valerie & Tim!

Lucius & Alison, Memphis Wedding at Schaeffer Memorial Chapel

October 1, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

I had a great time in Memphis on Saturday night with Lucius & Alison and their friends and family. Their wedding ceremony was held at the charming Schaffer Memorial Chapel of Kingsway Christian Church in Germantown, TN. Following the ceremony, performed by Alison’s grandfather, we headed over to Memphis National Country Club for the reception.

I photographed the bride’s brother and sister-in-law’s (Evan & Suzanne) wedding last year, so I couldn’t resist posting up a shot of them too…they looked so happy together!

Yes, that is my picture with the groom and a couple of groomsmen. They decided that since I had been taking their photos all day long, that they needed to take mine. I love how you can see the reflection of the groomsman taking our photo too.

And, I was happy to have Kyle along again as my second shooter/assistant. He did a great job as usual! We went to Carrabba’s for a late dinner after the reception, and enjoyed catching up on life, etc.

Congratulations Lucius & Alison! Slideshow coming soon.

Rave reviews from a BynumPhoto Mama…

After I posted this a few days ago, I got the sweetest email back from Olivia & Sophie’s mama Lorrie.

She writes, “OK…do you Want me to cry??? HOW do you make it look so dreamy??? I LOVE LOVE LOVE them all and can’t wait to see more! I truly enjoyed you being at our home and felt like you were a member of our family. Olivia loved you and was telling her daddy about you and your tea set “you brought just for her”. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! LORRIE.”

How can I not be smiling from ear to ear, and thank Lorrie for her nice comments with another sneak preview of a couple pics? I am a huge fan of fan mail, so if you send a nice note I might post up some more pictures of you too! :o)

Jonie & Chris, Nashville Wedding at West End Church of Christ

September 29, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

I couldn’t go to sleep without posting up some of the AWESOME images from Chris & Jonie’s fabulous wedding celebration today. There’s something about a Friday night wedding - they just have a cool feel to begin with. But this day had that little something extra to it…

Steph came along with me as my second shooter, and she got some incredible shots as well - I will post some more up in the next few days.

We decided to go downtown after the reception (our little secret) and take a few romantic night-time photos. Chris & Jonie are spending their wedding night at the Hermitage Hotel, so we went over there a little early to hang out and get some cool pictures.

Slideshow will be posted online really soon. It’s already half way done because I showed some pre-ceremony shots at a slideshow at the reception, and it seemed to go over really well. Thanks to Steph for manning the computer.

Headed to Memphis in the morning…give me a call before noon if you need me…I’ll have 4 hours in the car to chat.

Photography by Guthrie’s Fall Fest - October 21

September 26, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

My good friends Hollis & Edith Guthrie are having a Fall Fest on Saturday October 21 at their studio here in Smyrna. They are doing a special Fall portrait scene in their studio that is perfect for your babies & children in their Halloween costumes or fun new sweaters, etc. Special print package is $20 for 2 5×7 and 4 wallets.

If you didn’t already know, Hollis photographed my wedding in 2002, and has been my business mentor ever since. He does awesome portrait work and I highly recommend him for this and for any other traditional portraits that you may want of your children or family. He has been a photographer for over 15 years. Photography by Guthrie is located in the shopping center at the corner of Old Nashville Hwy & Hazelwood, around the corner from Tennessee Urgent Care.

Call 459-2538 to schedule your session and be sure and tell him I sent you!

Graham Family Portraits at Turner Farms

September 23, 2006 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment

It is a really rainy day here in Nashville. But the sun came out for brief moments here and there and lured us into going forward with a family portraits session. Despite the downpours, I think we still had a great time!

We started out in the clouds, and then by the time we got over to the barn, the skies broke open and there was nothing more we could do but sit and take pictures in the loft. Thank goodness for my mother, who put my Tahoe in 4-wheel drive and headed across the field to pick rescue us.

I was actually not too sad about the rain, because I had some tricks up my sleeves. I had packed the tutus and umbrellas for these little ladies, and they were up for playing in the rain. Aren’t Morgan & Lauren just beautiful? They were so sweet to each other - it was great.

Thanks for coming out today Graham Family!
